We stumbled upon something pretty neat, meet the AeroPress:

So heres the skinny. You place this device on top of your favorite mug...then you add the coffee grounds, pour in the hot water, let it sit for 10 seconds (so short!), then slowly press down the air tight plunger in 20 seconds. 30 seconds to make a cup of coffee?! Absurd! We haven't tried it but sources claim it makes the smoothest cup of coffee ever, probably due to the quick production time. According to their website: "Tasters ranging from professional cuppers and author Kenneth Davids, to coffee aficionados all praise the smooth, rich flavor." That's a pretty good piece of support right there. And here is food for thought: if it makes the 'smoothest cup of coffee' using normal coffee...if you used our exceptionaly smooth acid free coffee with this device. Why...the result would most likely be like drinking a small piece of heaven.
We haven't tried it yet, but we may just have to add this wacky looking device to our collection of coffee brewing devices- most likely to the left of the french press, it's close cousin.
