It's Summer.... It's hot (and in the part of the country where this author lives it's humid AND hot), so whats the best way to beat the heat? Why with Iced Drinks of course! Nothing cools you off faster then a nice iced beverage!

3.) Sun brewed iced tea.

Nothing says Summer more then sun brewed ice tea! We typically take 4 labs of tea and steep them in a gallon of water in the sun for several hours. Pour it over ice in a glass to enjoy immediately or stick it in the fridge to let it cool and forgo the ice. Don't forget the lemon!

2.) Iced Coffee

Freezing left over coffee is a popular method to cool down mixed drinks!
A lot of people will simply brew a cup of coffee, add a lot of ice, and enjoy. But, for us, that tends to water down the flavor of the coffee. To prevent this, make the brew extra strong, that way the melting ice won't ruin the taste.

1.) Cold Brewed Coffee:
Coffee without the heat? Yes! And you don't even need a special machine, just a veggie strainer, a drinking class, a few filters, and a container to catch the brew.

So here's how this works- take 2 oz of Tylers Coffee grounds and place them in a 3 qt pan, fill the pan about half full. Let it sit over night in a fridge. In the morning, strain it through the set up as shown above. You'll have a highly concentrated coffee extract, the less water you use in the brewing stage, the stronger it will be! Dilute about 1:3. Brewing coffee this was drastically changes the flavor, I think it comes across with a black cherry flavor, but that might just be me. Mix it with some cream and sugar and mmmmm! Delicious!

So, whats your choice of beverage on a hot day?

Tylers Coffee...keepin' it cool!
